About Time!

Happy April, everyone! It’s finally time for the awesome A to Z Blogging Challenge! Again! For the uninitiated, the blogging challenge has us blogging the alphabet, six days a week, for the month of April. And the best part? You visit other blogs and see what they’re up to. Many have themes for the month (I do not, which should come as a surprise to exactly no one), and it’s a great way to make new blogging friends.

Today A is about time, partially because it’s about time April got here, I’m as ready for spring as any human could be. It’s also about time because time is one of my favorite subjects to ponder. So much so, I actually wrote a book about what I thought would happen if we had the power to control time. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t go well.

Time is an intangible, and yet it rules our lives, with too much of it when we’re waiting for something awesome, too little of it when we’re rushed or dreading what’s to come. We made up the way we cut it up, but it’s still as permanent as the laws of physics. Meditation tries to help us anchor in the present, yet we always find ourselves dragged backwards or flying forward into a moment that doesn’t yet exist.

Deep, right? See what happens when you leave your brain unattended? Happy A to Z!

The time trouble. I fall prey every single time. The present is the one place I rarely am. Always either stuck in the past or with my head in the clouds.
    Happy April.
