On Saturday, I wrote about how, despite the gorgeous weather, I wanted to stay inside and devour the new season of Kimmy Schmidt.
Well, I didn’t.
I actually went…outside. And it was beautiful. Don’t worry, I caught up with Kimmy on Sunday, which was equally beautiful (both the catching up and the day), but I’d already been outside once, I mean what more could the world want?!
Anyhow, I went to the stunning Chicago Botanic Garden, where I had some fun with my camera. As proof of my outside-itude, here are a few of the pictures. Outside can be lovely. It just doesn’t have a lot of TVs.
It’s definitely spring! Just ask that guy. He was a very cooperative model.

I’ve never been to the Chicago Botanical Garden, but can see that I’d love it. I know what you mean about wanting to be outside this last weekend. Spring has arrived here early and I’m thrilled by it. Forget TV, I say.

Forget TV?!?! That’s heresy! But it was really lovely, and I highly recommend a visit there! It’s constantly changing as the seasons progress.

My bird-fu tells me that is an American Robin, who are clearly as co-operative and friendly as the European version.

Yes, it really wanted to make sure I got a good shot. It kept posing with the flowers.

How ever do you get your birds to pose so well? Next time, ask her to hold a worm in her mouth when you say cheese. Wait, if she smiles, the worm will drop. Forget the “cheese” command.

Actually it’s very funny you say that, I did get a bird catching a worm! I’ll post it tomorrow, I thought it was a little graphic…it doesn’t go well for the worm.

Haha! It never does end well for the worm. Some days you’re the bird. Some days you’re the worm. Nice twist on the old dog & fire hydrant line!

Definitely! I’ve been doing more worming lately than birding.
I think the birds at the Botanic are on the payroll. They’re very helpful.

I spent so much time outside on Saturday – mostly sitting on the balcony reading – that the fresh air exhausted me. I don’t know how, but it did.

There’s something about it, it just makes you tired. But usually it’s a good tired.

Thanks so much! I’ve followed you back (though I hope it will work, since you’re blogger). Hmm, at least I can find you!
I’ve just finished season 2 and I ADORED it.
And thanks on the photos…that blue gate is in the English walled garden, which is one of my absolute favorite places there 🙂

Thanks so much! It really was. And it’s tough to take a bad photo there, it’s one of the loveliest places in the Chicago area.
