I’m out of order?! YOU’RE OUT OF ORDER!

Just kidding. It’s me.

I decided to get some laundry done this morning, and thus I’m posting later. I like a little flexibility with my blogging time, I may experiment on days when the morning is more opportune for other things, so watch this space. But maybe at a different time.

It’s AccountaClub time! Let’s talk about our weeks. I’ll go first, for obvious reasons, namely if you go first there will be no post to go first on.

OK, so writing is eh, I’ve been doing some research to try to figure out how to make my project that disappointed me better. It was a bit helpful, but I need more of that.

I’m doing laundry so I’m going to count that.

And exercise was great, five days, five workouts and that’s the full month of March! When I do a full month, I am rewarding myself with something exercise-y. For January, I got myself a new pair of yoga pants; for February it was headbands.

We’ll see for March.

    Afternoon! Yup, missing in action for a few weeks. Life – in a bad way – stresses & strains, illness & injury to both Himself and myself. Loads of medical appointments, hoards of snotty children in waiting rooms, both of us trying to avoid catching anything else. So, yeah, not much writing getting done. Kinda bummed about it as just before it all blew up, I’d started to write again, making a start on filling in the gaps of David’s & my A-Z story from last year. I can now sit at a keyboard again (back injury) but only for 20 minutes at a time, which is rather limiting on the creative flow. But it will get better. We’d hoped to finish it – the first draft at least – by the time A-Z came round this year – but that’s not going to happen now. As always, David is being uber understanding about it all. I’ve not got going properly on my own blog either and didn’t have anything scheduled, so had a couple of fallow weeks. It happens – I’m not beating myself up over it. I’m doing the whole “tomorrow is another day Scarlett” and hoping to start dreaming about the story again as mental prep for the typing.

    Great work on yet another month of exercise achievement. I need to find a new pilates instructor pdq. That may jump to the top of my to do list.

    Did you decide to do A-Z this year? I’m putting together a list of people I’ll be following …

    • I am! I really enjoy it, though last year didn’t seem as vibrant as past years. Wow, that’s on Monday, I’d better sign up!

      I’m so sorry about everything going on right now, with a back injury to boot…I’m sorry you’re both now unwell. And waiting rooms are so risky, so many germs to be picked up.

      Hopefully you can get to some therapeutic movement for your back in the near future, only being able to sit for 20 minutes at a time is awful.

      I just wish we were on the same continent so that I could lend a hand, things seem so tough at the moment. But that you continue to hang in…that’s admirable.

  2. I used to think I was good at maintaining a workout routine, but you leave me in the dust. And that is awesome. I can see how trying to figure out how to make a “meh” project work would be slow-going. Baby-steps. You’ll get it!

    I’m still being a slacker. I think my body and brain are trying to save energy for all the April coming up. My brain is pulled in so many directions: write new stuff, edit old stuff, practice flash fiction for my A to Z posts, read, study (Mandarin is on-going always), try to figure out what my Chinese guest will expect when she stays with us, fend off an impending depression… I am not participating in fitness challenges right now, because keeping my head above water is about as fit as I can manage. Morning yoga and I’m done.

    The editing is progressing better than the fiction, but I’m at least writing a few flash fiction stories – maybe some of them will be appropriate to convert during A to Z, to fit one of the suggestions. (My A to Z theme is audience participation, and I’m going to let people suggest prompts that might inspire a story. I’m very curious how or if this will work!)

    • What an interesting idea! Very different from your past A to Zs…which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed, of course. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!

      I’m sorry about the impending depression, I hope you can fend it off, but if not, I hope it’s only a brief spell. The yoga is a great thing to do for that I think.

      Also MANDARIN?? I mean…that’s a whole thing itself. AND a house guest. That’s a lot.

      Sometimes the focus is the hardest part, I find. Sometimes I let myself have the dessert; sometimes it’s the vegetables, which is a bad example bc I love vegetables.

      But A to Z is a great project to do, and I think it’s valid to make it the prominent one, it gets tiring.

      I have to say the Daily Burn program is one of the easiest to stick to, though the workouts aren’t easy. But the lack of repetition, the not knowing who will be the trainer or what the style will be make it much easier to get to mentally for me. I don’t like repetition in my exercise.

      At least I’ve got that down, as the writing has been rocky!

      Sorry to hear that you struggle with the black dog of depression too. So darn debilitating, so draining and such a waste of creative time and living life. Hope it stays at bay and you get to enjoy your guest and the A-Z challenge. I mean, I know it’s meant to be challenging, but I always feel it should really be fun/provide a boost as well.
