#FridayThoughts: Hello Future

Standard

If you’re a regular reader (and of course you’re a regular reader and if you’re not a regular reader, hello and welcome!) you may be looking for #AccountaClub since it’s Friday and that’s usually what happens on Friday.

Well, that’s sooooooo 2019.

In 2020, we’ll do #AccountaClub on the last Friday of the month. Plenty of time for plenty of updates. Whatever your goals, whatever you’re working on, we’ll talk about it here!

This being my first real post of 2020, I’ve just got to comment on how far in the future the year sounds. All the things we thought we’d have this far in the future; what happened?!

As I said on Twitter, we should have potato chips that each count as 30 sit ups by now. I stand by it.

The news is pretty much all bad, and yet I feel oddly optimistic. I’m sure the universe will ironic me out of that in no time flat, but for right now, I can’t help but feel our near future will be better than the present.

I shouldn’t taunt the universe that way.

Anyhow, I wish you peace, prosperity and joy in your new year, and a fantastic Friday.

Ten Word Photo #WritingPrompt: Late

Standard

It’s time for our very first ten word story of 2020! I don’t know if I’ll ever get tired of writing 2020. How can we be so far in the future?

With so many people with ideas so backward?

But I digress.

So using the photo above, write a ten word story. EXACTLY ten words.

Ready?

Here’s mine:

2 a.m. Nina’s still alive. What the hell, hit man? 😡 *

*(After many rounds of discussion with myself, I decided an emoji is not a word. Tangled in my own rules, I treated it separately, but if you disagree, and hey, we’re all about a free exchange of ideas, I’d strike the “still.”)
