#WednesdayWisdom: Let’s try listening

Standard

After three years of being told we have to try to understand people with abhorrent views, while excuses abound for those abhorrent views, let’s try listening in a different direction.

Hard as it may be, let’s put ourselves aside and hear things that feel uncomfortable. Let’s see the new and the old, especially the old, through different eyes. Let defensiveness go, let the discomfort settle in, and let’s challenge ourselves a little.

There’s never been a better time for it.

We are all part of this human puzzle, and it’s time we let some of the other pieces do the talking. Yes puzzle pieces talk, it’s a perfectly fine metaphor.

Clearly you haven’t done enough puzzles.

So that is it for this Wednesday. Have a good one, and try to share it.
