#FridayThoughts: Dregs of the week

Standard

Is it sunny? Is it cloudy? Don’t ask me, I have no idea. I think sunny, but that could change.

It often does.

I’ve had a hectic morning, got groceries delivered, took some I’d gotten for my parents to them, broke a jar of salsa on the floor, it’s been a great time. My coffee has been like a blur, and a second cup sounds like a good idea.

Haven’t made it yet, but it sounds like one.

We’ve floated into Friday here in June, with restrictions about to be lifted in Chicago, and I’m glad and very, very worried. We don’t want to go back, and the variants are streaming around the globe, the very predictable progression of a pandemic that wasn’t handled correctly in the first place.

No wait, that was deliberately flamed from the outset. Doing the opposite of established pandemic protocols was a deliberate choice by trump and Republicans, and the cost is still being exacted on the world.

Well I’m upbeat today.

I’d like things to be normal as much as everyone else. But I don’t know if they ever will be.

And that’s the truth.

Anyway, that’s it for me, have a great Friday in spite of my gloom and wonderful weekend.
