You’ll be shocked to learn that it’s gray again today. It’s quite a string of rainy days here in Chicago, a longer streak than I remember for quite some time.
The flowers should be very pretty though.
It’s chilly too, a bracing spring day. Those have their place in the scheme of things.
And after I wrote that part, a patch of blue appeared in the sky. Fleeting, but there. Fitting.
I will tell you one truth: the dark days haven’t left us. Not yet.
Things are better, no question, but the people who need to oppress people to feel like they have any worth aren’t letting go.
They are desperate, their own kind of sick as they watch their supply of inflicting suffering on others, of controlling others’ lives diminish.
It’s not the time to give up. It’s not the time to resign ourselves to their wishes.
It is the time to use the fallout from their getting what they want against them. Only they want this.
Most people here don’t.
They have set their own trap. Like a Greek tragedy, Republicans are the authors of their own demise.
Keep strong. Keep the faith that we will prevail and brighter days wait ahead. And have a great Wednesday.
