I started this post while waiting on hold. They told me it would be an hour; I was at 27 minutes when I figured I might as well get going on blogging.

While trying to make a payment on a site, the site kept glitching. I’d tried yesterday as well, and thought it would be back to normal by today, but it wasn’t. Clearly I wasn’t the only person with the issue, given the wait time. But while on hold, I decided to try a few things based on what I was seeing while the site hung up, and lo and behold, 46 minutes into holding, I’d solved the problem and made the payment.

Woo. Hoo.

It’s been that kind of a week. Yesterday, I got all ready to work out at my usual live Daily Burn time, only to find there was no workout. No hint of a workout.

Whaa???

Apparently they had some technical difficulties, so no live workout ever aired. They ran a previously recorded one, but I don’t know when it started, by the time I saw they were running it, it was in the middle.

So I found one by Erika, an awesome trainer who just left and did that one instead.

Lemonade from lemons this week and there have been many, many lemons. I’ve spent more time away from the computer, as technology is obviously out to get me right now, and am focusing on some larger organization projects. I’ve gotten my front closet nearly under control (it’s tough in Chicago with all the coats) and I have other things I want to work on, so probably another update on that next Friday.

Was the week what I wanted it to be? Eh.

I did do five workouts, even with the glitch with the live workout. Some things are out of our control.

How was your week?

It’s a sorta holiday at the end of a holidayish week so no real post from me today, but please feel free to do your thing in the comments! I want to hear how you’re doing.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving if you had one.

Well, somehow it’s Friday again, and that means it’s time to ‘fess up or brag about our weeks. Or any combination thereof.

I said on Monday that I thought I was out for NaNoWriMo this year, and given my lack of writing, that seems to be the case. Alas.

Sorta.

Here’s the thing. As you probably know, I had that horrendous microorganism intent on taking over the world, and by the world I mean my body, and it really wiped me out. I couldn’t exercise for the full week a last week, and I still haven’t completely shaken the cough that just keeps going.

This week, it was really important to me to get my fitness routine back on track. It’s my base for everything, and I managed it, five live workouts, one every morning.

Woo-hoo.

But I also recognized that the pressure of NaNo–totally self-imposed–wasn’t going to help me feel better. So I let myself let it go.

The key here is “self-imposed.” This isn’t something upon which someone else is relying; there’s not external pressure, there’s no bigger picture to which I’m failing to contribute. Just a recognition that I may not be able to do everything I want to do while still doing my best interpretation of a seal, so it’s best to pick one and stick with it. Build slowly.

That’s some major growth for me, to treat self-care as a priority. Because without it, we have a flimsy foundation that could, at any moment, collapse.

Sometimes our accomplishment is in not doing.

Sometimes.

Not often. But sometimes.

So how was your week?

So. This week.

Yikes.

This virus is finally on its way out, but I have a lovely, disgusting cough it’s given me as it goes. It really knocked me out this past week, and I haven’t been able to do much.

So what does that mean?

Very behind on NaNoWriMo. No exercise. Lots of tissues and grumbling. I’m not sure if I’m going to try to continue NaNo at this point; I may just write and see how far it gets me.

It’s amazing how much how we feel can affect things you don’t even think about as physical, let alone the ones you do.

So that was my week. How was yours?

So you know how yesterday I said with NaNoWriMo my posting times might be weird?

Definitely weird.

I finished my words for the day, and I wanted to wait until I had them done to post. I can’t say for sure if I’ll do the same every Friday, but since it’s only Day 2, I figured why not.

I’ve implemented my plan of finishing the manuscript I was working on first, and it’s been slow going. But I’m 4,431 words in, so progress is happening. Woo-hoo!

Also the site wasn’t working so I couldn’t buddy up, but I think it’s probably up and running properly, so I’m planning on that. So writing: check.

Another five days of live workouts, even though I found the theme this week very patronizing, it was about optimism, and under the current circumstances, that seemed ridiculous. But I got the exercise in, words in, not a terrible week.

How was yours? And if you’re doing NaNoWriMo, how’s it going?

In writing the title of this post, I typed “Frieday,” which I think pretty much sums up how I feel about this week. It’s been a long one, given the assassination attempts on public officials.

Assassination. Attempts. On public. Officials.

So. My goals don’t feel so big or important in the scheme of things. Still, nearly done reviewing the manuscript I need to finish before NaNoWriMo. I got distracted hugely yesterday when my same-day shipping from Amazon turned into a “never show up” package, and I spent hours trying to figure out what happened.

Fun.

So it will be down to the wire, but the concept for the next book is really calling to me and feels fun. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Fitness, another week, another five workouts! I’ve also focused on getting more protein into my diet, and I feel a lot better. Worlds better. I love the idea of being a vegetarian, or a pescatarian in my case, but my body just doesn’t work on that diet.

So that’s me. How was your week?

Not sure how, but it’s Friday again. Waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back on Monday, I said I had an inkling of something I wanted to do, and we’d see how it went on Friday.

Well, we’re here.

And how did it go? Shrug.

I’ve made progress, though I’m not sure it’s enough progress to get ready for NaNoWriMo. And I have some other complications; there some emergency work being done next week in my building, and it’s going to impact where I can work.

So there’s that.

But I have made progress. Can I do it? I really want to do it. Maybe it’s time to invoke Yoda.

He’s so wise. For a puppet.

Apparently I can only work on one writing project at a time, though. Alas. So the other one hasn’t been edited this week. But did I mention I did make some progress?

Exercise status: five gold stars AGAIN! It was another very intense week, but I made the workouts, and I did them live. I’ve also improved my eating this week, with an emphasis on getting more protein. I tend to drift toward vegetarian, I’ve never been a huge fan of meat, but in the kind of irony of, well, irony, my body doesn’t do well on a vegetarian diet. I can’t eat many of the newer protein substitutes because of the additives, so I end up lacking in protein (and probably some vitamins and minerals) and often lacking in energy.

So I made an effort to get easy, already-cooked, sources. And I think it’s made a difference. We’ll see next week how that’s going.

And that’s my week. How was yours?
