Saving Yesterday Today

Standard

Time is a funny thing. It’s so intangible and yet creates a completely impenetrable barrier. Except when it comes to fiction, of course. Then all hands are off the clock.

Saving Yesterday (TimeShifters) by Jessica Keller. Amazon for $3.99. Her blood holds secrets she never knew existed.

Despite the fact that she acts as a parent to her alcoholic father, Gabby Creed feels pretty normal. But her life is turned upside-down on her seventeenth birthday when a bracelet appears on her wrist and sucks her back through time.

Turns out she’s not even a little bit normal. She’s a Shifter—a protector of humans and of history itself. And she’s not alone. The other Shifters believe Gabby is special, even more special than the mysterious Michael Pace. Oh, and the Shades—seriously creepy creatures who feed off of human despair—are determined to capture her.

It’s all a lot to absorb. So Gabby’s grateful to have Michael as her Trainer—or she would be if she could get her rebellious heart under control. Then again, if the rumors about her blood are true, saving yesterday will be the least of her worries.

Standard

Looking for a little light fun in the midst of this endless winter? Well, endless here. It’s hard to believe it’s summer in other parts of the world, but I digress.

A tiny peek into a diary sets this future-bride’s world askew. What will she do? Only one way to find out.

Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off by Jill Steeples. Amazon for $0.99. Reasons why you should never, ever, read your best friend’s diary (even if it has fallen to the floor, pages open oh-so temptingly…):

– It’s morally indefensible.

– She would never trust you again.

– You probably know it all anyway…

So what harm could the tiniest peek do…? Answer: Lots! The best reason for never reading your best friend’s diary:

You might just find out something you really didn’t want to know!

Alaska be Damned! According to Robert Hatting

Standard

Maybe the title of this book reflects my feelings about this never-ending winter in a place that is, at least on a map, not Alaska, but nonetheless, it should offer some escape, if not a warm one. In about six months, this will sound really refreshing. I swear.

Alaska be Damned! by Robert Hatting. Amazon for $3.99. A romantic drama set in the “Last Frontier.” A successful series of rescues causes all manners of problems for Skipper Ben Reed. Follow the rules and let them die? Not likely! His decisions sets a course only brave men and women can follow. See what happens when independent citizens of Alaska decide to take back what’s theirs. Rated PG-15. 140,000 words.

Heat Up Your Week with Ignite

Standard

For the next few posts or so, I may be mixing it up with the format of the book posts, where you can get them, and possibly the types of books as well. Wonkiness will nearly certainly ensue.

With that, I think Tuesday morning is the perfect time to bring a little heat. Warning: this one’s for grownups.

Ignite
by R.J. Lewis. Amazon for $0.99.

They grew up together as the closest of friends… and then more. When Sara Nolan and Jaxon Barlow decided to be together, their relationship as a young couple was consumed by a love that was both passionate and beautiful. Sara had it all when it came to a boyfriend: romance, trust, and a protector of all things bad. Jaxon had given her his bleeding heart for the keeping.
The last thing Sara expected was to ruin it all. Falling into a darkness that turned her loving relationship into a chaos of deceit and violence, she walked away from the pain she was inflicting on the man she loved, never seeking to return again.
But when Sara is forced to return to her hometown, she didn’t anticipate for Jaxon to be there. Nor does she anticipate the change in him; a change so harsh and callous, he is a stranger with a dangerous agenda of his own. Ignited by her past feelings and the reminder of the guilt she carries in her heart, Sara attempts to avoid Jaxon at all costs… only to find herself trying to pull him out of the same darkness she was once in.

***WARNING: There are many adult situations in this book that might be offensive to some readers: sexual situations and strong language especially. Book is intended for mature readers.****

Ignite #2, titled Burn, is out now.
