I guess we’re sticking to weekly? Habits are habits, it seems.
It’s felt like a longer week than it was, but that tends to happen in this brave new timeline. So much information constantly coming at us makes everything feel like it’s elongated.
Yet here we are.
So on to the task at hand, the week. If you were following along this week, you know already that I had a huge breakthrough with a book that’s been sitting. I’ve made progress in it, and it’s careening toward a conclusion, which is a nice feeling. Especially when something has stalled for so long.
When it comes to fitness, five days, five workouts, though Monday had a bit of a problem as the service wasn’t working properly. I substituted a really fun dance workout that was in the site library, and onward we went.
Every Friday (see? E? That worked out pretty well) we have #AccountaClub, where we talk about our goals and how they went. They don’t have to just be weekly goals, either; big ones, small ones, whatever.
Bragging is encouraged! So is whining!
This is a friendly, supportive place, so let’s do that for each other.
AccountaClub actually sprung from a post-A to Z Challenge challenge, but we’ll talk about that later (come back for M!)
Do you think I was stalling before getting into my week? Good eye.
The A to Z Challenge is going well, I think, though I’m not visiting as many blogs as I’d like. I had a weather-related headache this week and it really slowed me down. Most annoying is it’s so far out of my control.
Not much writing outside of A to Z either, for the same reason. Fingers crossed for next week.
Fitness was great, though, five days, five workouts, Daily Burn is a perfect solution for me. The variety keeps me in it. Today was yoga, which was great.
I decided to get some laundry done this morning, and thus I’m posting later. I like a little flexibility with my blogging time, I may experiment on days when the morning is more opportune for other things, so watch this space. But maybe at a different time.
It’s AccountaClub time! Let’s talk about our weeks. I’ll go first, for obvious reasons, namely if you go first there will be no post to go first on.
OK, so writing is eh, I’ve been doing some research to try to figure out how to make my project that disappointed me better. It was a bit helpful, but I need more of that.
I’m doing laundry so I’m going to count that.
And exercise was great, five days, five workouts and that’s the full month of March! When I do a full month, I am rewarding myself with something exercise-y. For January, I got myself a new pair of yoga pants; for February it was headbands.
This week is a bookend, dentist on Monday, hair appointment today, so self-care of differing types and differing levels of “I don’t wanna.”
The Daily Burn theme this week was getting out of your comfort zone, and I did try to do that in several ways; I mean the dentist for one, though that was just good timing.
Speaking of Daily Burn, even with the cold I had over the weekend, I hopped right back into working out and I really do think it sped up the recovery. Not all colds are equal of course. Some, like pigs, are more equal than others.
But five days, five live workouts. I rewarded myself for last month with a dozen new headbands.
I’m such a rebel.
Writing was an interesting bag this week. I came across those old comedy sketches I talked about earlier, which were just not good. That really put me in a bad frame of mind.
When I got to my project I’d been letting cool, I thought it was horrendous. Extremely, extremely horrendous. So that wasn’t awesome. I went back to it yesterday and was able to do a little work on it but it’s so incredibly first-drafty.
Which it is.
I also got back into another edit with a completed manuscript and that was, to my great relief, much better. It’s amazing, though how that kind of frustration can put you in a mindset.
So that was my week. A little shake up of routine, a little cold water to the face, and some great workouts.
Well, if you’re curious about how the week went, I started out by typing “2018” as the year. Even though we’re into March at this point.
It’s been a distractible week. Case in point: started writing, decided my fingernails were annoyingly long, got up, took care of that, noticed the extra set of feet for my sofa so the Roomba has more room just waiting to be placed, and just struggled those under the sofa, which was neither fun nor easy, and sat down to write the post.
Still have to empty the Roomba, but one thing at a time, right?
And I feel like that’s a good thought for the week. One thing at a time.
We can get so jumbled, so many things to do, not sure of the order in which to do them. That will be a puzzle for next week.
Side note, getting those feet under the sofa was so exhausting, it’s definitely tamed some of the distraction.
I did finish the banner I was talking about earlier in the week, and by popular demand (one person asked) here it is.
Yes, one side is higher than the other as it hangs, but you try hanging a banner by yourself!
Writing this week was very limited, though I’ve been thinking about a project I want to start, and I’m closer to getting it going. There have been a lot of not-writing-conducive things happening this week, so you just have to roll with it.
Fitness, though, was awesome. I loved every trainer and every workout was particularly good, so that was a big plus, especially given how tired I was by the end of the week. Well today. I’m tired today.
I’ve been a little better about going to bed earlier, I’d like to push it back a bit, but there’s an improvement, so I’ll take it.
Somehow it’s not only Friday but also the first day of March. Plus side, spring has to be on it’s way, despite the swaths of ice still on the lake and the random patches of muddy snow on the ground.
Minus side, someone set time on turbo.
Turn it down a notch, dude. Turn it down.
It’s also time to talk about our weeks. So.
Writing was not my thing this week. I started out the week tired and groggy and haven’t really regained my footing. Some weeks are like that. I’ve been trying to get more sleep–one of the goals I wanted to work on–but I have not done well with that. I blame my internal clock, which keeps waking me up an hour early on the dot.
I guess it’s almost time to move the clocks forward.
Fitness, though, is going fine, this week wasn’t as hard as last week, I think they knew it was a lot. Five days, five workouts.
Hello AccounAbles! It’s Friday, so it’s time to dish about our weeks and our goals and how things are going.
Not my most productive week, writing-wise. These weeks happen, though, ups and downs are inevitable. I’ve been bad about sleeping and being regimented about getting to bed, and it absolutely shows for me the next day. That’s definitely something I need to work on.
Fitness-wise, though, I still powered through 5 live workouts this week, and I have to tell you, I really, really, really didn’t wanna today. I was hoping for some yoga, but it was old-school-style cardio, which is very much not yoga.
It was also one of my favorite instructors, Cheri, who is a rare treat, so that did balance it out. I don’t know if the workouts were harder this week than average, but I’m feeling them more.
Lack of sleep?
Something to see about next week.
The host did mention they were tough workouts, so maybe they actually were more physically challenging. Maybe fitness for me this week was just more challenging.
