We did it. We hit the zenith of our challenge, April 30, the letter Z.

Go us.

I really only did half the challenge, after my migraine-plagued start I was so behind on the visiting I never got back to it, which makes me a bad, bad participant.

BAD ME.

I’ve been regularly blogging 5 days a week for a while now, but for some reason, that extra day seemed more challenging. Which I guess is the point.

Anyway, I hope to see you guys after, as I plan to catch up during #MAYkingItWork during May. Cheers to a job well done!

So This Was New

Standard

Well, I’ve done something I literally have never done before. Literally. Ha! You’ll get why that’s funny in a second. Sort of funny. Anyway, back to the point.

I posted lines from a work-in-progress. In public. Where eyeballs can see them. Today’s 1 Line Wednesday theme (#1LineWed) required posting a line from page 6, 16 or 160 of your WIP.

(See? Literally? Manuscript? Not laughing? Really?)

I posted all three.

All, so far, from one of the three manuscripts I have going. It’s the one that’s complete, and I’m currently editing. And it didn’t hurt. Not a bit.

I might even throw out some lines from one of the other two. I don’t have 160 pages on the third, but I definitely have pages 6 and 16.

What found fun about the exercise was looking for lines that felt somewhat intriguing, but tell you absolutely nothing about what’s going on. That’s for when the whole book is available, right?

I think that the comedy sketch writing really pushed me to begin sharing work, long before it was at the stage of feeling “finished.” I’ll never post a chunk of a manuscript that’s far from publication, but who knows where #1LineWed might lead.

Next time I might post two lines.
