It’s sunny and pretty warm and somehow October which, whoa. How?
I don’t know.
It’s been a blurry kind of year so far, even the slow bits. A lot of major changes, a lot of adjustments, a lot of water with my head barely staying above.
I know I’m not the only one.
But we plod forward along with the seasons, we can kick and dig in heels or flop ourselves onto the ground old-fashioned tantrum style, and it doesn’t change a thing. Time is time and it is our lot for it to control us and never the other way around.
Which, when you think about it, is good for time, because we’d only make a mess of that too.
Kind of the basis for The Great Paradox and the Innies and Outies of Time Management, (affiliate link for my own book, kind of an inception of referrals) but I digress.
I’ve been struck by the open ageism aimed at Pres. Biden, in a country that knew Ronald Reagan had declined before his second term, while it’s clear Pres. Biden has not missed a beat.
I’m sure that’s what’s driving it, people trying to find a weakness in a president whose gains are historical, whose actions are historical, whose inherited mess was historical even in the scale of messes Republicans leave behind. Trying to prevent a Black vice president from becoming president.
But the insult to people is nauseating. The assumption that age equals incompetence, infuriating. If the founders thought that, they would have enshrined it, but instead they spent their energy on curbing the folly of youth.
Minimum ages.
No maximum.
Anyway, that’s it for me on this hodgepodge of a Monday. Have a great day and don’t engage in isms.
