It’s gloomy outside and that seems appropriate given the state of the world. It feels like we’re balanced on the edge of a knife, and it is my opinion that what’s going in Israel and Gaza has been stoked by a desperate, vengeful, losing putin, and fed with intelligence stolen, filtered through Iran and likely sold by trump.
The goal is to divide, to fissure along that present-for-millennia fault line, antisemitism. For putin to get some respite in Ukraine, where his ego and megalomania far exceed his capacity, or Russia’s military. For the world to look away.
And for all we know Putin is still angling for the world war he’s always wanted, he’s tried to provoke.
Eyes on China, everyone. Eyes on China.
So the heavy clouds match a heavy mind as even in the background, I think about ways and paths to survive what may come next. What has come next time and time and time again, century after century, country after country.
Let’s hope for a quick resolution, a war that is a flash not self-sustaining. Let’s hope that it too does not go as putin hopes or expects. Instead let’s hope we are watching the final, desperate gasps of authoritarianism around the world sputtering out, to be replaced by real democracy, true equality, the end of bigotry.
We need to fight it all as hard as they struggle to maintain it. Let it be a losing gambit, a risk too large.
With that I wish you a safe weekend.
