Monday again, and it’s gray. We’ve got bad weather on the way, apparently; tomorrow should be a rainy, snowy mess.

Oh yay. But that’s the part of the year we’re in.

You may or may not know, I tentatively decided to do the Yoga with Adriene January challenge. I did it through Saturday, and then on Sunday, I turned on Youtube. The first video was a Senior Shape calisthenics one; the second was Adriene’s video for the day.

I just wanted to do the other one. So I did.

Other years I’ve really connected to the challenge and got a lot from staying with it. This year, it’s not speaking to me.

In years past, I may have slogged through anyway, perhaps garnering less and less joy as the days went by, but I gave myself permission to do something else. Because why not?

Who was the challenge for, after all?

We set up these traps for ourselves, especially at the start of the year, and somehow we think we have to for reasons we can’t really articulate.

Well, don’t trap yourself.

Allow yourself an exit, especially if the only reason you’re doing something is for you.

And with that, I will wish you a lovely Monday.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
