We’ve had more Democrats bucking the will of the voters and calling for Pres. Biden to “step down,” and I will stick with my new policy of not giving their names Google alerts. And then “leaks” claiming the president was “more receptive” to the calls.

I apologize for the twitter link but I couldn’t find the statement in an article without a negative spin and I am not clicking those. None of us should click those. Let them wither.
Look, I have absolutely no idea what those Democrats are doing. I’m starting to wonder if there is an op utilizing bot calls and emails to get them to believe there’s a huge groundswell of people who want Pres. Biden to step down, whether from enemies foreign or domestic.
If I’m wondering, I assume the FBI and CIA are wondering.
But the idea that Pres. Biden “can’t beat” trump is ridiculous. He already beat him once, and that was before SCOTUS decided that states can let women and girls and other pregnant people die of medical neglect for “moral” reasons by overturning Roe; that was before SCOTUS ruled that you can “tip” public officials for doing your bidding as long as it’s after the bidding is done; that the very idea of federal agencies can be challenged by the ones regulated; that a President is immune for anything he can say was an “official act,” which may include attempting to overthrow the Constitution.
That was before trump and his merry band of fascists put out Project 2025 for the world to see, a roadmap to absolute power for a “president” in a fully fascist landscape. That was before an “assassination attempt” that not even trump supporters fully believed with zero discussion of trump’s “injuries” or medical state, even with his not seeming to be capable of staying awake at important events like, say, a criminal trial.
That was before an RNC so lackluster even trump reportedly fell asleep (!), with ratings down from 2020, and ratings that declined significantly from the first night to the second.
What do they know that we don’t? Because by and large, the Biden voters I’m talking to are strongly behind the Biden/Harris ticket. We didn’t expect Pres. Biden to be younger by the election.
And the lack of emphasis on trump’s age, obviously questionable health, nonsensical ramblings, criminal convictions, legal judgments, pending criminal trials and attempts to overthrow the government is all very…odd.
The numbers showed far right wins in countries where those victories never materialized. But what they did was remain stalwart and stay the course. Not panic like headless chickens.
But that said, one truth remains: we can only control what we can control.
If Pres. Biden decides it’s in his best interest to step down, then we will go from there. If the scrapper Joe Biden we all know and have voted for repeatedly stays in the fight as he indicated, then we will advocate for Biden/Harris with all we have.
Fascism is the enemy, and republicans are fascism. They are crystal clear about that.
So we will take the bumps in the road as they come, adapt and move forward. This is why we’re here, in this moment in time, at this crossroads of history.
And we won’t let the future down.
