It’s a rainy day, raining now, raining later, overall soggy. And cool, too.

So much for August.

I always think of August as humid and relentlessly hot and unbearable, but it feels to me like the seasons have shifted, maybe slightly, and now it’s more like September.

Climate change? Probably. The Earth growing tired of it’s constant circling of the sun?

Maybe so.

I’m in one of those moods where I feel like I need to be doing 12 things at once, and you know what happens when you do that.

You get 0 things at once done.

I guess I could flit from task to task like a hummingbird, razor-sharp beak dipping in here and there. Maybe I have no choice in the matter because I just found my attention fluttering away.

It’s strange how that goes, the list keeps growing in the back of your head while you try to keep up. I was reading this morning about the astronauts stranded, apparently by Boeing, in the space station who were supposed to be there for eight days and now it’s been two months.

First a side note, privatization is not the answer in government. It’s simply a means of taking funds for the public good and putting them into private hands. The companies still need to turn a profit; government does not.

Back to the astronauts, though, unfortunately, they’re not going anywhere.

I was struck by the description of what they’ve been doing. While there’s no real room for them, they’re still doing “chores.” Apparently astronauts have 15 minutes to complete tasks, and the time is measured by a little red indicator that goes through the time, showing whether they’re on schedule, ahead or behind.

So there they are, stranded in space, with talk of them not returning until next year, and yet their time is measured task by task.

Hmm.

No big conclusions today, only random thoughts, so I will wish you a wonderful Thursday and flit my way to something else.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
