It’s another gray one, not that hot but incredibly humid so it feels hot. Currently 83F (28 C) but it says it feels like 88 (31) and I believe it. Thunderstorms this afternoon, maybe it will all cool down.
Maybe not.
I watched part of the interview with VP Harris and Gov. Walz last night and I couldn’t get through it because of the interviewer, Dana Bash. She started off with an adversarial tone and never let that go, at least as far as I watched, and because of that, though the candidates were trying to get their positions across, with every question they answered she acted as though they hadn’t answered and asked it again.
Amateurish and pointless. I ended up turning it off.
I’ll hear from them directly, not through the lens of someone trying to twist the very words we can hear ourselves, complete with the chyron pushing the revised interpretation. I said before that CNN was embarrassing during the debate but this is something even worse than that.
It was clear they were desperate to do anything to try to slow the momentum of this incredible, historic, groundbreaking campaign.
Nothing I’ve seen implies they succeeded.
What the Harris/Walz campaign has proven is the best way to tell us what they plan to do is to speak to us directly. The media in general cannot be trusted to offer the truth or even a fair version of it.
Take, for example, donald’s desecration of Arlington National Cemetery, which should be an outrage for every single American. Instead there are justifications and normalizations; not even a pause for a blink at the fact that the woman the campaign “allegedly” assaulted and battered (verbally assaulted; reportedly shoved aside) isn’t filing charges because she is AFRAID OF RETRIBUTION.
How is that not immediately disqualifying? How is that somehow OK?
So sign me up to reject the media’s attempts to make donald better without donald actually being better. Sign me up to reject them attempting to make VP Harris a “flip-flopper” while donald is out there claiming he doesn’t support the abortion bans he appointed lying justices to SCOTUS to put into place.
Sign me up to reject the idea that Gov. Walz is the one dishonest about his background when people have debunked jd’s fanciful Appalachian origin story.
We are tired of being lied to and treated like we’re the problem for saying so.
I am a real voter. And I couldn’t give a hoot whether they give another mainstream interview. Ever.
