It’s cold and blustery with the heavy, dark clouds that generally mean business. Very, very January.

Off we go.

But first, I’d like to thank SOMEONE for a cup of coffee, which, given how cold it is right now, is very much needed. SOMEONE is a great friend who knows when a person could use a little cozy.

Thank you.

And we could all use a little cozy today. The nightmare is made flesh, and any fever dreams of somehow making it not so will come to an abrupt, cold and sobering end. We’re on those tracks, barreling forward, and there’s not one thing we can do about it.

Apparently there never was. We did our part, those of us who did our part, and still we ended up here.

I’ve seen a lot of people posting on Spoutible about how they want no part of the doom and gloom, they don’t want to hear about it, see anything about it. And that’s their right.

But some of us want to talk about it. Because if we don’t talk about it, it becomes one of those big looming things no one talks about, a wound left to fester and rot.

There has to be a healthy middle ground. Or a healthy neutral ground.

Because if the people with the full freedom to talk about it don’t talk about it, the people who are getting more and more marginalized, more and more pushed into corners, more and more trapped, will have nowhere to talk about it.

There is a qualitative difference between the people most likely to be affected saying they don’t want to see more about that and the people least likely to be affected saying so. They are different sides of a cell of oppression; one trapping people inside and the other free to walk away, whether or not they hold the keys.

Anyway, that’s it for me on this very first Monday of the year, frigid as it is. Have a great day, and let’s gather our strength in pieces.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
