It’s gray outside, foggy I suppose because even the air is gray. Seems about right.

Well, my friends, it’s perhaps the most Monday Monday we’ve hit so far, we may feel bleak because things look bleak and republicans are too weak to do anything about it. And that’s OK.

To feel bleak, I mean.

It’s not OK that republicans have handed over all of their power to someone who was not elected, has not been approved by Congress and has taken hold of the purse strings, which is also Congress’ job.

But.

I’m going to ask of you one thing.

Don’t listen to people who only make you scared and angry and leave you that way. People who will throw all the problems at you–as if you didn’t already know–and offer zero solutions. They are meeting their own goals through this.

And none of those goals are to help you navigate or take action against what is happening.

Your mental health matters, and they are taking some of it to build their audience, to get clicks, to put eyes on them.

If you enjoy those videos or posts, I’m certainly not telling you what to do. We can always make our own choices based on what is best for us, I do not believe we have to be in lockstep or even that it’s good for us.

Diversity of thought is how humans got where we are.

And you can see what the effort to end that is getting us. So.

Call your MOC, especially if they are republicans. Let them know how weak and spineless they look. Let them know you do not approve of their concentrating power in this unelected individual. Call your Democratic reps, and if they’re doing a good job, tell them. Tell them what you want to see. Maybe they can use our numbers to persuade their cowardly colleagues.

Anyway, my words can’t fix it, not today, may not ever, but I want to share this song with you, I shared it on Spoutible, and it kept showing up for me until I listened.

We got, we got, we’ve always got the fight in us.

Take care of yourself, and let’s take Monday one step at a time.
