It’s sunny and is it cold? Of course it’s cold, it’s February in Chicago. That’s when we pack in the rest of the cold so it feels like it will never not be cold.
But.
It’ll be warm again. Eventually.
On Friday, I decided to go a different direction, poll for a topic, and I ended up with the first installment of Stumpy the Time Traveling Penguin. I’ve decided that by Friday, we can all use a break, so watch for part 2 with our #FridayThoughts.
Will there be a part 3? Who knows, I haven’t written part 2 yet.
Will I spend this whole post asking myself the kinds of convenient questions I usually attribute to a hypothetical reader?
It’s starting to look that way. And like I can’t type.
I kind of want one of those cute typewriter keyboards. If you have one, let me know what you think.
And on to Monday, finally, though I guess we’re sort of already in it. I missed the Super Bowl entirely, but I heard it went well in terms of things extraneous to football.
So that’s good.
Also apparently the halftime show is something else. So I guess those of us who didn’t see it it are going to have to check it out.
This is the way it’s going to be, at least for now. Real life in little bits. Sections of normality, snippets of time where we actually feel OK.
We are an adaptable species.
That is a strength and a downfall.
I think the thing I want to focus on, at least in this small sphere of now, is accepting that no one can be perfect at the times in which we live. No one. No one can avoid every bad company or product or event.
I mean if you can steer clear of the worst offenders or offset that by trying to give weight to what is better, that’s good.
But no one is going to dance their way through this slimy bog entirely spotless. You’re not dancing your way through this slimy bog entirely spotless.
It’s simply not possible.
And when it comes to intentions, let’s ask, if it’s from people who haven’t given us reason to doubt them.
That’s probably an entire post for another day.
Anway, that’s it for me this Monday, have a great day and a wonderful start to your week.
