It’s gray, it looks like rain, and the temperatures are supposed to climb this weekend into the high 90s, with a lot of humidity to boot. It will be like the sky has draped Chicago in a hot, wet towel.
So that’s something to look forward to.
I haven’t been able to shake my dragginess this week, and it finally occurred to me that the weather was causing a low-grade migraine. It became pronounced enough for me to realize this morning.
It’s both a relief and an annoyance.
The relief part is weird, I know, but there is a level of frustration when you can’t get yourself moving no matter what you do, when you feel like a hippo on land and you cannot find your way to water.
Oh hippos. They kill way more people than sharks, but people somehow think they’re cute.
Maybe I should be saying “Oh people.”
I mean, more frequently than I already do, I guess.
Which would make it almost a constant chant?
Well, anyway, the point is my brain has felt at less than 50% this week perhaps because it is actually at less than 50% this week. The fact that I couldn’t stop eating sugar also should have been a clue.
And that I wanted to spell “sugar” with an H, that’s kind of telling.
So I will accept my brain will be back to normal when it is back to normal, and never stop marveling over how hard it is for me to realize I’ve got one, especially when it’s low-grade.
And I will wish you a wonderful Friday and a great weekend. Stay cool if you are also having extreme heat, run the air if you have it, go to a cooling center if you don’t, and take care of yourself.
