It’s sunny, the weather is good, and it doesn’t matter how much the truth is told, republicans are going with the lie that somehow we had something to do with killing a horrible man.

One of their own killed one of their own.

Case closed.

Meanwhile, despite their decrying violence, they are encouraging violence, and violence is happening, but I don’t feel like being a catalog for that. The were counting on this death being a catalyst, it seems, and no truth is going to stand in their way.

I am so tired of people who think it is a crime if we don’t care about them, if we have no concerns for their safety or whether they become the targets of their own rhetoric by people they groomed to be violent, especially after decades of them dehumanizing us.

You can’t criminalize our disliking you or being indifferent to you, or outright despising you.

And if you can, if the courts let all of this open oppression of the First Amendment by the government itself stand (private businesses are a more complicated issue) then our Constitution itself is good and truly dead, murdered in its sleep by John Roberts and his Merry Band of Anti-Constitutionalists while the world watched.

That legacy he’s so concerned about, that’s definitely cemented. If he thinks he can force us and American history to remember him with respect, well, we will not.

In a wave that actually defines “cancel culture,” he’s why universities and other public institutions feel confident firing people for speech they don’t like. He’s why corporations have no issue with skipping along to government pressure over employees for speech it doesn’t like.

They know John Roberts, Killer of the Constitution, Supreme Court Injustice, isn’t going to do one single thing about it.

An employee fired for refusing to print a Charlie Kirk poster? No problem.

But what about the cakes, you say, SCOTUS said you don’t have to bake a cake if you don’t want to.

And I say he’ll say it doesn’t apply to posters. Or it doesn’t apply to corporations. Or it doesn’t apply in this case.

Because John Roberts isn’t a jurist. He’s a legal mercenary.

His whole job was to give republicans what they wanted, an unlimited buffet of fascism. And here we are, and they’re stuffing themselves silly.

What a bunch of disgusting people.

Anyway, that’s it for me today, have a wonderful Tuesday.
