So we’re on to DAY 4 of our #OneNiceThing challenge, where we are doing something nice for ourselves every day this week, Monday through Friday.

If you haven’t started, you can join in at any time, just do FOUR nice things for yourself today. If you want, if it’s adding stress, then letting yourself do only what’s comfortable is a nice thing too.

When I started this, I wasn’t sure if I was really going to do it myself, but you know me when I issue a challenge, or maybe you don’t because we’re new friends, but I tend to feel like I can’t ask you to do something I wouldn’t.

So yesterday, my One Nice Thing was eating well, and by that I mean good foods, actually making dinner, thinking about what I wanted to eat and incorporating color. It felt really kind to myself.

An aspect I have loved so far this week is seeing what everyone is doing, and watching this little idea, sparked from wanting to cheer a friend, spread and grow.

We all need an oasis in this dark, terrifying political desert.

I said earlier this morning that today I feel the fear they’re working so hard to instill, I feel it deeply within myself, with the added layer of lack of control.

But what we can control is how we treat ourselves even while all this horror unfolds.

Maybe it’s silly, maybe it’s frivolous, but no matter what we are still people, whole, entire people, no matter what our own government tries to tell us.

So, with that I leave you. I hope your #OneNiceThing today makes you extra happy, and have a great Thursday.
