It’s still pretty frigid here, but I’m pretty much on fire, so I sent another letter to my senators and representative this morning.
Yes, it’s the second time I’ve written them within a week. I can’t get through to my senators’ offices on the phone, so writing is easier.
Do not let your elected representatives think that switching out the face of this government-sponsored violence does anything. Asking an agency bound by the Constitution to abide by the Constitution is as pointless as telling the self-confessed puppy killer green is not her color.
We are now to believe the people who brought us arming teachers as the “solution” to school shootings fully believe the First Amendment and the Second Amendment are mutually exclusive.
Since when?
Was it before that guy crossed state lines with a gun and killed protesters? Because if that’s the case, it might be time to revisit state or federal charges, whichever it was they didn’t file.
“I don’t agree with what you say but I’ll fight to death for your right to say it” has now become “I don’t agree with what you say, so die.”
“Don’t tread on me?”
More like “Don’t forget your spikes!”
I wonder if ever in the history of ever, people with the power to change things have done less than Republicans. Their core-est of core beliefs are in ashes, and they’re handing the guy a lighter.
They they should really stop and listen to themselves. Here I am, one of those man-hating, smug harpies destroying “Western” (eyeroll, I mean come one we didn’t think I’d get through this without at least one eyeroll) civilization and THEY AGREE WITH ME.
They. Agree with me.
I also think guns have no place at a protest. Can I get that in writing? Preferably in the form of a bill that gets an official signature? While we’re at it, let’s brainstorm other places guns don’t belong.
On second thought, don’t stop and listen to yourselves. Just get some legislation going to take care of the problem.
Because that’s where we’re at. You can impeach and remove everyone who is treating the Constitution like an ala carte menu, or you can get to implementing some gun control.
Can’t have it both ways.
Anyway, that’s it for me today, please keep contacting your representatives, especially the Republicans. And if you do have Republicans, please lean into the Second Amendment issues. You can thank them for agreeing it’s time to restrict guns, or you can berate them for not standing up for them, dealer’s choice.
Have a great Wednesday.
