It’s a gloomy day, with rain about to hit any second. I don’t mind it though, I’m inside where I can watch the clouds and they can do as they please.
I’ve just gotten to the dregs of my first cup of coffee and I can’t help but wonder if I need to have more before I can continue, if I need even simply the hot cup to get my thoughts to flow freely. Let’s find out.
I will be right back.
Well that’s brewing. I could be done before it is, I guess we’ll see.
On social media, and Twitter specifically, there are people who pretend to be people they are not with the purpose of advancing their white supremacist patriarchal agenda. They fashion themselves as Black, Asian, Jewish, Muslim, women, LGBTQIA+, whatever group serves their purpose of sowing division and pushing bigotry.
It’s a form of apologia, which, itself is morally reprehensible and revolting, despite the relatively benign definition. In essence apologists can do or say anything in order to push their religion.
Back to these imposters. The thing is, they always, but ALWAYS have tells.
(Coffee beat me, by the way, it was ready first).
Sometimes the tells are obvious to anyone who can read. Sometimes they’re only clear to the group being impersonated. But because they have so much disdain for the people they’re claiming to be, it’s impossible to miss.
The ignorance shines right through.
If your gut tells you someone isn’t who they claim to be, believe it. Don’t be afraid to call them out on it either.
It’s not like you need to worry about their feelings because doing that itself is an act of bigotry.
Have a great Wednesdsay.
