Well Democrats had quite a night last night, and, in Ohio, the right to abortion access will be enshrined in the state Constitution. Philadelphia has its first woman as mayor, and while Republicans try to drag us back to the dark ages, voters are saying, loudly, not so fast.
It’s not all good news, in Hinds County, Mississippi, an area made up of a majority of Black voters, people were refused the right to vote because the polls kept “running out” of ballots. No one is fooled by the claim that the turnout was “unexpectedly high;” and you would think they would have learned from the fraudulent elector scheme that texts and emails are forever.
Forever.
I suspect several people will end up criminally prosecuted for what looks like a deliberate suppression of votes targeting Black voters with the intention of directly affecting the outcome of the election. Also running out of ballots one time in one precinct could be lack of preparation. Running out in the whole district without fixing the problem prior to the court-ordered extended closure sure looks like a plan.
We will see.
It will not just go away, however. I suspect the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ is already assessing what happened.
Not much more to talk about today, and I’m not really sure how any of this is wisdom, but to sprinkle a little in here, don’t count out Democrats, don’t underestimate how angry people are about Roe, and learn from the people already facing charges for trying to manipulate the outcome of an election.
Have a great Wednesday.
