It’s another blank day outside the window, and that’s not really a metaphor. The air itself is flat gray.
Might be rain. Might be snow. Might be both.
Hope it’s not that last one.
This week I’ve had a lot questions and not a lot of answers, a lot of observations of issues and few solutions. If I could solve them, I’d probably win a Nobel Prize or something.
Or maybe not, maybe the issues of misogyny and greed aren’t things that the world thinks we need to work on. Perhaps that, right there, is the issue.
So it probably won’t surprise you, then, that I’m not a font of wisdom on this Wednesday, that instead I am in a place of wondering why so many people put so much work into being horrible to other people. It is their whole life, their whole being, their whole persona.
It seems like it takes more effort than to be indifferent at the very least.
Are they just too little in their lives?
Do their spirits not take up enough space, carry enough spark so, instead of working on trying to brighten themselves, they douse everyone around them, feeding off the ashes?
I do not understand it and I will never understand it, as though they are from an entirely different species, from an entirely different planet. Their entire solar system turns in a different direction.
Not harming others uses far less energy.
Maybe the problem is lack of hobbies, though I know I’ve said this before.
