It’s an overcast day, one which will likely have rain. It’s not as hot as it was, though, and I have a respite in the hammering right now so I’ll take it.

Today I’m thinking about those things that live just beyond our current thoughts, right there, worrying at us, behind a curtain through which you can always see the shape of them, lurking. Those anxieties with which we don’t want to sit.

I fluctuate between naming them, talking about them and the fear that by doing so they get fleshed out, they can become solid and real in the world beyond my head. That giving them oxygen is literally giving them the oxygen to grow and to breathe and take on a whole life.

Which is better?

I really don’t know.

Words absolutely have power to transform into actions; but sometimes words are just words. It’s so difficult to know which is which and which will be which.

Though we also often believe we have too much power. And sometimes we don’t recognize the power we have.

For a Wednesday Wisdom, this is a whole lot of waffling and not a whole lot of wisdom, but I have no idea which is better, which is less likely to lead to the subject of the anxiety, or whether it really doesn’t matter at all.

And with that I leave you to your own wisdom on the topic, maybe you have insights to share.

Have a great Wednesday.
