(AI generated image of rainy window with an out of focus city scene in the background) Thank you to everyone who has subscribed to this blog, I was told by WordPress there are more than 1000 of you who enjoy my ramblings, and it suggested I create a paid newsletter.
I’m not sure how I feel about that.
I have the ads, though frankly given the amount you have to accrue for a payout I suspect it will take several lifetimes. Oh well.
It’s a gray one, likely a rainy one, though that’s supposed to stop. Supposed to, as the weather hasn’t really been right about the rain yet this week. But when they’re wrong, they just change what the prediction is like they never said any different.
That feels particularly relevant right now.
We are in the midst of an artificial feeding-frenzy in a mostly man-made pond, where mostly male Democrats, mostly white male Democrats, are using the interests and safety of their constituents as a blood sacrifice to satiate the Gods of National Name Recognition.
It’s disgusting and at this point I think we need to start contacting the national party and let them know how dissatisfied we are with these so-called representatives. How at least WE understand the stakes right now if they do not, and will support our party but it’s time to start cultivating new candidates in these districts.
I can promise you the only thing getting my rep elected is the D next to his name when it’s time for voting in November.
It’s clear to me now that he thinks if Sen. Durbin retires, he’ll be a likely candidate. Maybe he’s using Pres. Biden as an outlet for his frustration over Sen. Durbin not going anywhere, which he shouldn’t, he’s one of the most powerful people in the Senate.
But I will be clear, I will put all my energy into that senate primary to let people know he cannot be trusted to represent our interests or the people of Illinois. I will let the whole state know that if a chance comes for his own personal gratification, he will ditch us in a second.
I’ll let the national party know too, because you know they’re thinking ahead.
My pick for future senator, in case you’re wondering, is Rep. Lauren Underwood. She is there to do the work of the people, regularly meets with citizen advisory boards and has introduced a ton of legislation.
Anyway, the point is many of these Democrats have forgotten that they are in Congress for US, not for them. The party itself belongs to us; it exists because of US. So we should let the party, who controls funding and support, know.
Anyway, that’s it for me on this Wednesday, have a great day.
