It’s a sunny day and I have one of those things I’ve been putting off to do today, but it could be put off no longer. All good procrastination must, eventually, come to an end.
Much like my coffee. I need more. “I’ll be back,” she typed and somehow it managed to sound like the Terminator. Or “Terminatrix,” as the spellcheck wanted.
It’s brewing.
I’m as excited as everyone about the Harris/Walz ticket, but I still find myself indulging in a little escapism, lately it’s been watching Cruise with Ben and David on YouTube. They’re a married couple who, as the name of their channel implies, go on cruises.
And I’ve realized, as YouTube thinks I’m wildly into cruising and offers me more people who do the same, it’s not about the cruising, per se. Yes, they offer information you can file away if ever you consider a cruise.
But you go on a bit of a vicarious vacation, see the food, see what there is to do, explore ports, and they’re both very entertaining and lovely. Their episodes are very well constructed. It’s an incredibly accessible travelogue, really.
If you, like me, still want a diversion here and there, I definitely recommend it, even if a cruise is the last way you’d want to travel.
Because let’s be honest. It’s been a time. A long, dreary, difficult time. and while Pres. Biden plotted our escape from the oozing quicksand that was the donald years, donald will not go away. He and republicans endlessly try to grab us and drag us back.
We won’t go back.
And I have faith in Harris/Walz, but it won’t happen on its own, we have to make it happen. So the fear remains. The damage done by all these years being subjected to a man who won’t take no for an answer on a national scale remains.
So who can resist a little Drag Queen Bingo with Ben and David on a Virgin Atlantic ship?
Not me.
Who’s going to pass up the chance to see someone else experience The Margaritaville, an actual cruise ship?
Certainly not me.
And who would miss out on a chance to watch a whole lot of stunning sunsets at sea from a couch?
Definitely not me.
