(Image description: OK this image is kind of horrifying but I’m keeping it, it’s a sort of donald-like creature, orange face, in a suit, on hands and knees on a yellow slide like he’s trying to hold on and yelling.) It’s a sunny day, I think though it was supposed to be cloudy, but who is going to complain about sun instead of clouds?
Only the people who want to rain on your parade.
Sorry, couldn’t help myself and also I do love a rainy day so there’s that. Anyway, we’re well into donald and jd’s unhinged response to what they cannot control. A little note, as they continue to insist on calling the Vice President by her first name, and in donald’s case, misspelling it, inexplicably with a b which is probably supposed to be an insult but I don’t get it, I will, heretofore, start referring to them by their first names too.
Granted that’s tough for jd given he’s had so many names, changing it more often than conman Neal Caffrey on White Collar, but hey, that seems fitting enough given how his “memoir” is apparently not really that.
I am tired of people referring to the VP and only the VP by her first name, and since that doesn’t seem to be going away, I’m going with donald and jd.
Until weirdo #2 changes his name to something else again.
We’re also into practice for the Air & Water Show, which means the roar of jets which, at this exact moment in time, isn’t my entire favorite. I mean I’m never a huge fan of a pageant of weapons of war, but with the world so volatile, I’m even less so this year.
But no one asked me.
It’s a little tough to focus with the noise.
But back to the original point, donald and jd are coming apart at the seams, if ever they had seams to start, rather than a collection of haphazard staples. They suddenly find themselves on a slippery surface running uphill; they cannot get traction no matter what they try.
And that is absolutely delicious to watch.
It’s like they’ve given people an all you can eat buffet of hatred, and a bunch have finally had their fill, realizing all that’s left is a horrible, bitter aftertaste.
With no distraction about Pres. Biden’s “age,” suddenly we’re hearing about policy and that’s the last thing Republicans want. Especially given their grand opus, Project 2025.
They tried to say Tim Walz is too old; and yet he’s nearly 20 years younger than trump. They tried to impugn his military record; veterans’ groups said oh no you don’t.
But more than anything else, people are just tired of hearing their voices, hearing their rhetoric, hearing how many ways they’re going to make their lives worse and yet they should be grateful for it.
So donald and jd, miserable, terrible people that they are, can continue to flail.
I bought popcorn.
Have a great Thursday.
