Yet another day that’s pretty sunny, already have the freezer exchange under my belt…well not under my belt, that would be kind of weird. But it’s done.
So that’s great.
More to do but that, as they say, is life. And they say that a lot. A whole, whole lot.
I’m not sure that it helps.
Today is a kind of chugging along day, we went to vote at one of the early voting sites. We were able to get in right away, but one of the poll workers said that it’s been very steady in the first week of early voting expanding to the neighborhoods.
I worried about how my dad would manage, even thinking I may have to drop him off, take the car home, walk back and vote, go get the car and then pick him up. I joked with someone that maybe there would be parking nearby.
If you’ve ever tried to park in Chicago, you know the tone and the wry smile.
There was parking literally right outside of the site. Right there.
The poll workers were so kind, taking care of my dad so I could vote and focus on what I was doing, as there were a number of questions and that long, long list of judges.
And then we were done. It’s funny how something you think will take the day sometimes doesn’t. I still have a pile of containers to wash from the erstwhile freezer, and a dishwasher to finish emptying so that I can refill it, and a slew of other little things that add up to wondering where the day went.
But.
You may have noticed I managed to sit down and write regardless, so I think that’s a win.
Not sure if I’ll post tomorrow, so please do not be alarmed, everything is at normal, not yet.
But progress has been made, however we measure it.
