It’s sunny again today, and I’m light on ideas, let alone wisdom. Isn’t that always the way.

The cursor blinks in different ways on different days, it feels like. On the days when the thoughts are flowing, I hardly notice it at all, maybe because it doesn’t have much time to sit and demand my attention.

But on the slow days, it seems like it’s tapping its foot, waiting. Very impatient.

If you know, you know.

And there it goes again.

I’ve seen a number of doom and gloom posts, reminding us of the polls in 2016 with Hillary Clinton ahead, and it’s true, the only way to win is to vote. That’s always been the case; it sounds boring and trite and utterly unmagical but voting is our power.

But 2016 was 2016 and the world is a very different place, largely because of the disastrous, deadly, economically crippling donald years. He gave actors like Saudi Arabia and russia carte blanche, and it shows.

Now no one is saying “what do you have to lose” and “give him a chance.”

Which were both ridiculous super white dude things to say in the first place because donald was very clear he should not be “given a chance” and you had everything to lose.

“Take him seriously not literally.”

Remember that?

Well, separated families and kids in concentration camps later, a fully preventable pandemic it seems he deliberately flamed into global disaster later, an economy left on the brink of collapse later, a full attempt to overthrow the Constitution with an insurrection he incited at the Capitol later, top secret documents allegedly stored on a ballroom stage later, Muslims banned from entering the US later, threats to get rid of the ACA, Social Security and Medicare later, Roe v. Wade overturned and women rejected to die and suffer bodily harm from pregnancy complications at hospitals later and on and on and on and on and on and on it’s completely clear what we have to lose.

Everything.

Some people already did during his usurping of the White House.

So let’s do what we can. Let’s vote and make sure everyone we can encourage to vote votes and for the right team.

And let’s enjoy this, the rejection of all that came before, all that donald and republicans have subjected us to, and vote for Democrats at every single government level, for every single office. No more chances.

We reject dystopia.

Have a great Wednesday.
