It’s supposed to be cooler today, though very humid by the feel of it, and they say we’ll have more rain, but right now I see almost no clouds in the sky.
That could change.
Obviously we cannot get complacent, we cannot assume it’s a done deal, but I feel donald fading away, like one of those transfer stickers you burnish and the color changes and it gets lighter and it moves from the back of the plastic onto another surface entirely.
He is an energy vampire feeding off our fear and misery and VP Harris and Gov. Walz have cut off his food supply entirely. Now he’s withering, fading into an oblivion he should have had decades ago. Nothing more than a punchline on a sitcom that gets a lukewarm reception from the live audience.
But that could change.
We cannot flag, we cannot let the momentum go, because this is our last hope for something so much better than the awfulness of donald and project 2025.
Few things exemplify his rotten core more clearly than his recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery to use people who died in service to our country as political pawns. His team even reportedly assaulted a worker at the cemetery who said they couldn’t take photos there.
The point was to imply that the Biden Administration mishandled the withdrawal from Afghanistan, a deal which DONALD HIMSELF MADE.
And it’s difficult to think about what happened during that withdrawal and not consider all those classified documents allegedly sitting on the stage of a ballroom at donald’s hotel or whatever it is; piled in a bathroom; thrown into boxes. Who had access? Who knew what?
Was donald’s part more sinister than brokering a bad deal he could try to blame on the person who actually had to handle it?
We may never know the full truth.
I find it odd how donald is treated like we don’t know how he’d do the job, as though we hadn’t already seen the ending. Some of us got through it the first time; a whole lot of people didn’t.
He is the loser of the most recent election and has never won a popular vote, so how do they build this mystique that he’s popular? He isn’t.
And without the specter of “Biden’s age” to cower behind, it’s getting a whole lot harder to hide.
We will choose joy. We will choose hope. We will chose a future with a future.
But we have to work for it.
Have a great Wednesday.
