It’s sunny and warmer, though probably not for too long, and today I am contemplating this Kdrama I am explicably still watching and wondering how they intend to wring drama out of a moment that could have been simply resolved with a text.
We’re in the 21st century.
But that’s a truism of humanity, isn’t it, we eschew the easy, the obtainable, the straight path for the needlessly complex. The uphill.
Humanity’s built in “difficult” button.
What do I know, I’m a humanity too.
It can lead us down some seriously dark roads, and not just in a melodrama you allow to unfold in front of your eyes for reasons you cannot understand yourself, with a heroine one can only describe as “empoutered.”
And by one, I mean me, because, well obviously.
Once again, I’m mired in my metaphor. Let me reel myself back in here.
Somehow this odd compulsion to take the road untended has led us here, to this moment in time, a pivotal moment for the country and the planet and probably the universe if we don’t rein in a narcissistic rich guy who thinks he’ll own Mars.
There’s so much said about taking the “easy” way out, but what does that mean, really, in the context of an existence that, on it’s good days, still has its tethers to gravity? And who tells us that?
The people for whom our “hard” ways make their ways easier?
Hmm.
It’s not like I’m an oracle above a gas-spewing crevasse (I mean talk about your visions) with all the answers, gas-induced or not. Or any of the answers, as it happens.
I only sit here in front of a screen with my fingers running over a keyboard, frequently of their own accord, as my brain takes a ramble through the thickets of thoughts. And me without my machete.
But I guess the point would be, if a point there is, if the issue can be solved with a text (or an email or a call or a fax whatever the future of technology holds, which is probably not a fax) send the text. Don’t let your mad dash to the airport be in vain.
Yes, yes, we’re back to the Kdrama again.
But don’t be empoutered. Be empowered instead.
(That was for you and the heroine, I can multitask.)
That’s it for me today, have an amazing Monday and a blazingly awesome start to your week.
