It’s sunny and humid and feels like storms are likely. The forecast agrees, and says they’ll probably be here overnight. That’s good, this warm at this time of year feels eerie.
Though ’tis the season for eerie, I suppose.
We are less than a week away from the election, and I want to be able to savor the historic excitement of this specific moment in time, significant for ages to come, assuming Vice President Harris wins and we have ages ahead.
But that’s the exact reason why I can’t, that possibility that next week could spell the end of life as we know it on this planet. I know there are a number of people who hate it when we say things at such a large scale, they think they are overblown and hyperbolic, but maybe that’s a defense against looking too deeply into the truth.
Musk himself, while pouring money which appears to be his into the race, not that we can be sure about the origin, said that life will be harder for Americans under donald. This is what he is pushing for. They want all money to flow upward, and that means yours.
As much as you may try to identify with those people, you, unless you have billions in the bank, are not one of them. And if you have billions in the bank, I have some suggestions for better use of that money beyond hoarding.
Mike Johnson has confirmed that republicans will continue their assault against affordable healthcare, resuming their bid once again to undo the ACA. Not to put in something better for you, but to build in more profit for insurers.
And in case you forgot about SCOTUS, they just allowed Virginia to continue purging voters, my guess is because they have seen what is waiting for their corrupt, kangaroo selves when donald loses. It allows the removal of “suspected noncitizens.” Now how are you going to suspect that from voter rolls?
Hmm.
