Another dark, gloomy day, and I have a bout of whirring head syndrome, my thoughts running round and round and round on a tiny brain hamster wheel.

So many thoughts, so much to do, small things that gather together into swarms like ants. Enough that I got waylaid on the way to writing today. That hamster wheel is squeaky.

Today I suggest to you you find that one little thing that will be a touch of luxury for you, whatever it might, be, that you can get now, if you can, to take with you into what’s to come. On Spoutible I suggested getting a milk steamer/frother for coffee, if that’s your thing. I love mine, I have fancy coffee, just like that.

The small joys may become more meaningful before we know it.

And that’s OK.

If the last week–it’s only been a week!–has taught us anything, as hard as we may work for something, as much as we may want something, there is so much in this world that is not within our control. Sometimes we get little pockets where it feels like it could be.

But those are just pockets.

So sometimes when the world reminds us, when the planet reminds us, when the universe reminds us, the best the we can do is something small.

For us or for someone we care about.

I can’t tell you what the future holds, though my brain seems to think if it runs fast enough on that tiny wheel, it can come up with a window into tomorrow.

Can’t run fast enough to outrun time, brain.

All we can do is take things as they come, the good and the bad, and do the best we can to sort them into piles and figure them out.

We are only people, after all.

Some of us with hamster wheel brains.

Have a great Thursday.
