It’s foggy and maybe rainy, though I can’t tell if it’s only water in the air or also water on the ground. We have an advisory, though, so at the least there is fog.
I get it.
Before I roll onward, thank you so much to SOMEONE (wink wink) who bought me a coffee! If ever there was a day when a human needed coffee, today is that day, both weatherwise, and task-wise.
That SOMEONE is incredibly generous and thoughtful, and a most supportive friend. Thank you.
Though I plan to tell you more about it tomorrow, when I don’t have timing issues bearing down, today is one of those days where a chapter ends. Firmly.
Ugh I forgot the spoon for my grapefruit. I’m multitasking. Poorly.
Anyway, back to the day. We all have them, these endings we know must come eventually, yet still the getting through those last pages feels impossible.
I’m not sure why.
Maybe you’re not sure why either, it’s not necessarily logical.
And yet still we do it because there’s nothing else we can do, there are so many points at which life offers no other alternative.
Well.
I suppose the alternative is staying stuck in the chapter forever, a chapter that is over but for the final words, staring at the wall with its firmly closed door.
I suppose it is a choice to walk through that door, even as the past disappears behind you, leaving you only on that very narrow raft of words between you and the doorknob.
I suppose.
But honestly, it feels better when you grasp the handle and stride on through, into what awaits, beyond.
Have a great Monday.
