I’m early this morning, so early, in fact, it’s still dark out, with no hint of the sun. It could be any time in the deep night, but it isn’t, it’s morning.

Winter just feels that way.

One of those nights when I slept for a while and then couldn’t sleep more. Not for any specific reason, really, besides that constant dread we’re feeling these days, but when I kept fighting with sleep and losing, I decided to get going.

So far, so good.

No doubt there will be a crash at some point, but I can get a full, solid sleep and hit that wall anyway. There’s something about 2 pm.

I think it’s biological.

But still, there’s the early morning traffic, so it’s not only me in this soft gulf between night and morning. In a little while, the sky will brighten, oranges and pinks and reds right at the bottom, and it will be like the night never was.

All we’ve got to do is wait for the sunrise.

Have a great Thursday.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
