It’s gray, supposed to rain, and though it’s nearly 50 now, later, snow. February is gone but doesn’t want to let go.

Yesterday I chose to “embrace the suck” and I have to tell you, it did, as a matter of fact, make it easier. It was like peeling a layer of suck off of the suck, because resenting what you have to do doesn’t make it any easier.

Overall, I’d call it a success.

So much so, I’ll do more suck embracing today.

It’s going to be quite a stretch of things being unpleasant, I imagine.

Accepting what is is one of the greatest challenges of life for creatures with imaginations. Do birds ever rail against the wind?

I suspect they just change directions.

Until there is more we can do, we should be like the mice they think we are, be like the raccoons and the bears.

Get on with it.

Adapt.

Just change directions.

It’s an awful feeling want to make it all stop, wanting to make things normal, wanting to turn the earth backward to reverse time like Superman.

So many problems with that premise.

But right, not the point.

And no one can really do that. Not as far as we know, at least.

Where we are is where we are. In the end, there’s nowhere else we can be.

I’m not advocating “giving up,” or accepting the unconscionable. I’m simply saying that we have to adapt our mindset to take one more burden off of ourselves so we can more freely move.

Have a great Wednesday.
