It’s sunny and pretty warm and maybe winter has finally receded for now. Though it could come roaring back.

You never know.

I’ve tumbled into Monday still feeling the time change somehow. It’s only an hour yet it still seems to hit hard. So weird.

As we start another week that feels a lot like the last week, only somehow ickier, it’s time to get creative.

Who doesn’t like being creative? Well, some people I guess.

Creative in how we use our food, to reduce our waste, which is something we should be doing anyway, given the prices and the environmental impact. Creative in how we reuse packaging when we can; creative in how we approach problems we didn’t think we’d ever see.

Oh how blithe we were.

Though that ended nine years ago, I’d say.

Converting flower beds or lawn to grow food, if you can, if it’s safe, if you can get the soil right. Converting space to get more from it.

Passing on the things we’re not using to people who can use them.

There is a lot we don’t want to see in the world constantly in our faces, so let’s get going on what we do want to see. Let’s fight the consumerism in us, difficult as that may be for some of us more than others, and let’s stop chasing the shiny.

The shiny is how they keep their hold on us.

We can still have community. We can still be kind to the people who deserve kindness. We can try to be a hand reaching to pull others from whirlpool, if that’s what we have to offer.

They are peddling despair in a value pack with their purported cure for it, and we don’t have to buy it.

We don’t have to buy anything. Certainly not more than we need.

So whatever it is, whatever your area, do something creative with it this week. Can’t wait to hear what you do.

And have a great Monday.
