They’re saying we’re in for thunderstorms today, but I’m looking at mostly blue skies with some very thin, insubstantial clouds. They may be right, but it doesn’t look like it.
Not yet, anyway.
There are changes ahead for all of us, really, big and small, welcome and most certainly not. We live in a time of great flux.
The thunderstorms may come this afternoon; the thunderstorms may not.
Changes you’ve been thinking about, the ones you want, the ones that are good for you, take steps toward them now, if you can. For all we know, they may be a talisman–metaphorical or literal–against the ones you don’t want.
It’s a means of keeping some control in a world that is increasingly out of it.
Last time we changed in ways we didn’t expect, lost parts of ourselves, found others we didn’t know we had, or maybe would rather we didn’t have. This time we know.
We know there are no moments where he will suddenly “become presidential.” We know that there is nothing that will be done for our benefit, not one thing. We know that the currency is vengeance and hatred and bigotry.
We know that.
So make that context of your change. Make that the backdrop and the impetus.
It doesn’t matter what the change is, you can share it or keep it to yourself, whichever you like.
But let today be the day you take even one small step toward it.
And have a great Wednesday.
