It’s sunny and cooler after a rainy day, though it might rain later, here on this Juneteenth in 2025.

If you don’t know about Juneteenth, here you go and I know from that incredible picture that’s the same article @Firegoddess shared on Spoutible, so great minds and all that.

In any case, for the people who were not enslaved, it should serve as a reminder of how far some will go to preserve the white patriarchy, and what we ourselves do to protect and shield it.

I’ll tell you this. It certainly doesn’t need our help.

These times are designed for reflecting upon the cruelty of humans against other humans, and how greed and power drive it. I like to remind people though it sounds like long ago, that institution of enslavement, it is not so long ago; it’s close enough for photographs of people who were enslaved.

Of Harriet Tubman at many stages of her life, not only when she was older.

And it is something a lot of people yearn for, though in recent years past they wouldn’t say it aloud, and if they did say it aloud they’d be certain it was to a receptive audience.

The degree to which they don’t care, and the extent to which there are no repercussions, well, that explains where we are and how we’re here.

I’m so tired of it, the bad guys winning. I’m so tired of decency being a battle that is lost to inhumanity, that it’s even up for debate.

I am tired of cruelty as a sport.

And I’m not saying it’s new, how can it be new in a species that enslaved other people, who committed atrocities and continues to commit atrocities, who sees blood as just payment for debts imagined.

But I am tired of it.

I’m tired of people pretending it’s not there or it’s not so bad or it’s somehow OK in one way or another. I’m tired of “values” as a badge and not a way of life.

I mean, think of where we started this, with people who continued to enslave other people for two more years after they were freed simply because they could. They had no legal justification. They never had a moral one, I will say this with my last breath, people knew it was wrong at the time.

People know what is happening now is wrong.

Context is simply an excuse.

We can see what is happening now. People saw what was happening then. Somehow the bullies of the species always manage to grab the microphone, and that’s why they hate Pres. Obama.

He took that microphone and he did good with it.

One of the most charismatic people to exist on the planet, certainly at the same time as us, perhaps ever.

And he DID GOOD with it.

Not self-gain.

The greater good.

Pres. Biden is a man who spent his entire life in service to the greater good. So has Vice President Harris.

But who do people flock to?

The ones who will wring them dry and complain that they aren’t giving them more.

It’s why we don’t care what happens to them anymore. No more than they care what happens to us.

We cannot rely upon bullies, because bullies will always be bullies. And their sycophants are lost causes, if ever there were people who should reap what they’ve sown, it’s they.

Anyway, that is it for me on this Thursday, I wish you a good and reflective day.
