It seems it doesn’t matter whether it’s a beautiful day or not, as we are under yet another pollution action day. It’s more ozone than wildfires today, but still, not great.

Way to go, 21st century. Way to go.

I am feeling better than yesterday, whatever it was or is I think we’re priorly acquainted. I’m still tired, though.

Aren’t we all.

And that could also be attributed to the strain and stress of the last several months, with the whole of the world situation on top of that. Once you’re drained, it takes a while to get your energy back up.

I’m working on it.

It will take however long it takes.

Looking at the news definitely doesn’t send me in the right direction, though. The Democrats from Texas who are now here in Illinois were evacuated from their hotel due to a threat. Because that is who republicans are, who they always were, who they want to be.

When you realize that there are people who are simply terrible people, how do we deal with that as a society? Certainly not put them in positions of power, where they can throw aside any principles of the government they swore to protect simply to seize yet more power. To cement that power. To put their boots on the throat of democracy and crush until it’s lifeless.

That is what they want.

And shame on you if you pretended not to see it before. Shame on you if pretend not to see it now.

Threats. At a hotel.

Despicable.

The whole point is Texas wants to cook the books and remove Democratic representation from the people who have elected it. So they can cook the books nationally, more than they already have, mind you, and we don’t know just how far they’ve gone to do so.

So do we do that in states where we could tip the balance the other way?

I don’t know what the answer is, but I’ll tell you what it’s not: accepting fascism as the new normal. Accepting the bespoke alteration of the Constitution without amendments but solely with the whims of one man.

The government we knew is gone, hastily dismantled, and sold for parts. And I don’t have the solutions or answers, but only the plea: see this for what it is.

See it.

For what it is.

Pretense will only drop us further into the abyss.

And on that perky note, I will wish you a wonderful, thoughtful Wednesday.
