It’s a bit cloudy, a bit sunny, and we’re already all the way to Thursday. It certainly came around quickly.
That happens.
I wish I could tell you the whole under desk peddler thing went wonderfully with my Dad, but unfortunately, it did not and it has to go back. The tension wouldn’t stay low consistently, it increased throughout his time on the bike which is not what he’s looking for.
So on to a different one, I guess.
He loved the concept of it, at least, but sadly this one didn’t fit the bill. I’m disproportionately annoyed, though. But that’s probably me.
Today I am wearing bright pink leggings (leggings are, for me, home attire) and a green t-shirt with multicolor lettering that reads “being a functional adult everyday seems a bit excessive” and I feel like I’m the ’80s.
Why not.
Sometimes color is the best way to brighten things up. Though I’m not sure it works on full-out fascisim.
Well I’m all over the place today.
And in case you think I’m exaggerating on the fascism front, Democrats in Texas are being “escorted” by police everywhere they go right now, and Texas Rep. Nicole Collier was told she was “committing a felony” by being on a call with other Democrats.
What felony? What is the law she’s violating? How is a such a law constitutional under the First Amendment?
And if the answer is “none of that matters,” then see where we started this conversation, with fascism. As former Sec. Hillary Clinton said, what if this were happening in another country?
Texas has always believed it is a law unto itself, and now no one is stopping it from being one. Who would, the federal government? The one that deployed the military in our capital?
Bright colors won’t even touch the sides.
I don’t have answers and with the mood I’m in today, you wouldn’t want to hear them anyway. I’m very much in a place where I wonder if the bad guys always win, in the end, because the will to do evil is stronger than any other force on earth.
And the most ironic part is they always claim their motivation is “morality.”
Nauseating.
Anyway, that’s it for me today, as ungrounding as today’s post may be. I hope I’ll have better things to say tomorrow, but for now, I wish you the loveliest Thursday you can have.
