It looks like #FridayFrivolity is here for another week, there is something relaxing about knowing that on a Friday, it doesn’t have to be that serious. At least to write.

And I hope to read.

Before we get going wherever we’re going, thank you so much Deb! That cup of coffee was, indeed, warm and comforting, and just what I needed yesterday. The grump was very slow to vacate, but that it did was largely thanks to you.

Thank you.

And now Friday.

It’s very cold again today, my current reading is 17 F (-8.3 C) Which, for those playing at home, is just over a third of yesterday’s temperature.

Ah, Chicago.

It’s sunny today, though. But the wind is whippy.

So I’ve been kind of stuck for something to write about this, well, not morning anymore, so I asked AI for some ideas. First it thought I wanted fiction, and offered a list of some really fun quirky concepts. Surprisingly so. So much so I’m not going into detail and may tuck them away for fun later.

It offered to write the stories, but that felt like a step too far. But if AI can have a good time writing what work out to be decent stories, it does make you wonder what all the pondering over word choice is for.

The suggestions for blog posts were less applicable for me, and included things like “My week without complaining,” (I mean who are we trying to kid), and “An ode to my favorite mug.”

Not topics that I personally would tend to write about, but I can see their utility if you are grinding things out to get the attention of search engines.

At some point, we may not be able to tell the work of a human from the work of AI.

That doesn’t feel quite as friviolous.

But even if its prompts didn’t do it for me, it did, in the end, give me something to write about. I guess that’s food for thought.

Not deep thought.

But thought.

Regardless, have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
