It’s Monday and the sky is gray. It’s pretty warm, though, 43 F (6.1 C) and we find ourselves in that last little sprint to the end of the year.
It’s hard to believe.
It’s been a really intense one, personally, globally. Very rough looking back and seeing how far down the well we’ve gone. It’s difficult to have hope for the coming year, but maybe what we need more than hope is grim determination.
Hope is lofty, hope is delicate. Hope is easily popped, every single time it takes flight.
Determination not so much.
Grim determination, even less so.
Because with grim determination, you expect and prepare for the obstacles, for the let downs. It’s no rainbowed, swirling surface rising toward the sun.
It’s head down through the muck trudging forward.
We’re in that stretch where time vanishes and suddenly it’s a new number on the calendar. Blink and you will miss the whole rest of the time, like we’re in a freefall skid downhill.
Which is why I think it’s best to get our thoughts straight now. To get our vision straight now. Before it picks up speed again and suddenly it’s November.
Grim determination.
On a side note, not sure how frequently I’ll be posting this week, it’s really going to be a day-by-day thing, simply because I think I’m slightly in need of a break, but also sometimes doing this is my break.
So we’ll see.
Regardless, have a wonderful Monday, and let’s keep our eyes ahead.
