‘Tis the day before Christmas, and all through city, the lights are now up and things kinda look pretty. I checked the report and what do you know, it’s 40 degrees* with no chance of snow.
*F. 4.4C.
Don’t worry, I’m not doing that the whole post I PROMISE. There is a slight chance that I break back into rhyme by the end, but how would I know now, I’m not that person yet.
It’s Christmas Eve for all who celebrate, a merry one to you, and a merry Christmas as well, and for everyone who doesn’t, a happy day before the day literally everything is closed.
And for all, happy “I should have waited to buy that after holidays” or, for the savviest among us, “congratulations for snagging that at the lowest possible price. Good job.”
I know we haven’t hit Friday Frivolity yet, but I guess I don’t want to be serious. I had a serious post in mind, but there’s time for that.
Instead, I want to live in the pretense for the next two days that hope is not a tiny thing nearly smothered by real-life ogres; that goodwill is possible, and great things lie ahead.
My grim determination I talked about the other day awaits, like an exoskeleton, on the other side of the new year.
We will take deep breaths, we will watch something light and silly, we will engage in hobbies if we want to or naps if we want to or making amazing food if we want to.
A break is a break.
So I wish you a Wednesday filled with everything good; now take care of yourself as only you could.
(Eh, it had to be done!)
