It’s a quick one today, I’ve got something coming up despite the cold cold cold. At least it is supposed to get into the teens today, though it’s not there yet.
Before we sprint through today’s post, thank you, Gail, for the coffee!! You have personally powered my eyerolls for the day, and we all know there will be a lot of them.
A LOT of them.
Thank you.
This morning I woke up to sheets and blankets in a tangled mess, unsure of how they got that way. I don’t remember my dreams but they must have been active, filled with whatever made me toss and turn. I stood over it when I got up, wondering how it was all going to come straight.
And yet a twist here, a brush there, adjustment by adjustment, it was back together again.
Tidy.
I know we’re in a part where we look at the mess we’re in, the stuff of fever dreams of tyrants and bigots, and we cannot see how it can come straight. They declare themselves above the law and suddenly they are; they declare themselves judge, jury and executioner, and suddenly they are.
Overwhelming, sure. Intimidating? That’s the point.
But.
What we need to do is twist here, brush there, adjust and adjust and adjust.
Small things, big things, they are things. Contacting and staying on your members of Congress, for example, especially if they are republican. They make it feel pointless to contact them, and then people don’t, so they can then say their constituents want whatever they say they want.
Don’t let them.
Voting. Very much voting.
It’s going to take a while, and things will not be the way they were. That’s probably a good thing, really because, at the end of this all, unearned privilege itself will be one of the casualties.
And that’s something to look forward to.
Tidy.
Anyway, that’s it for me today, have a great Thursday, and stay warm if you’re in the cold.
