It’s been pretty warm around here, in fact I think we had a record high yesterday, but today it’s cooler and grayer. We’re supposed to get rain, or we were, not sure if that’s going to happen.

Who knows with the weather.

But I’ve opened windows, because with the warm weather outside and the heat inside, it’s positively tropical.

Let’s mosey on over to Tuesday.

She said confidently.

As though she knew what words would come next.

But I sort of do.

This morning while I was getting dressed, a singular thought popped into my head: kindness is, itself, radical.

That wasn’t always the case, but as we watch people identify with a religion that bears no resemblance to what they actually do or say, that they use to justify cruelties and abuse far beyond many of our imaginations, it’s clear.

The way forward is kindness.

Not to the people who would leverage our kindness to their ends.

But kindness to ourselves. Kindness to the people around us, walking the same path forward in the same struggle. They may be on a different route; they may have started somewhere else; but now is the time for us to converge with that one, plain idea.

Kindness.

It is the light that can blaze away this creeping mold of soullessness.

It is a small thing that keeps us human.

Look, I am not talking about the people reaping a whole lot of sowing. That is their lesson to learn; that is their path.

But our path to that world I spoke about yesterday, a world steeped in good, can set off with that one thing.

Kindness.

Have a great Tuesday.
